Special Chinese New Year custom---do you know them ?

Chinese New Year is known as Spring Festival, Chemshun Ceramics holiday from 24^th, Jan to 4^th, Feb , 2017. So our Festival starts from 25^th.

Actually people start to busy from the twelfth lunar month every year, every household has done years of preparation began, and some feminist drying bacon, sausage, and some drying candied sweet potato, fried melon seeds. At the same time, people purchase some nuts, cookies and candies for the new year, and almost every families select a red couplet and hang the lantern affixed to the door in order to increase the festive atmosphere.

Pingxiang located in the south of China, people need to warm themselves by a fire in the cold winter. And during Spring Festival, we’d like to chat with each other around stove in the room. Children roast sweet potato in the fire, and adults eat dried fruit. Dear friends and relatives who come back from city to home pour out everything to families and parents in the end of year before blazing fire. Everything is happy and harmonious.

Each children expects the coming of new year because they would get the red envelop from parents, brothers and sisters. In the first day of New Year, we would go to neighbors from house to house and celebrate the new year, we called their name and say”Happy New Year”, then they would make tea and ask you to eat the nuts. It is alive and meaningful, and in the second day, we also would go to the Grandpa’ house and from the third day, friends and relatives would invite people to have lunch or dinner in their house.

New year last to Lantern Festival，it is CHINESE Valentine days, in the ancient times, girls couldn’t go out to date with boys, only in the day of Valentine, they could go out to street and date with boys, they could guess lantern riddles together, it shows the people’s talent and yearning for life.

With the development of economic and technology, people not only like to communicate with relatives and friends face to face around the stove, but also love to send red pocket by mobile phone and travel, the travel is convenient when there are more and more people have private car and the country build huge subway systems and a national high-speed rail network, traveling is the most favorite activities during festivals, and Wugong mountain of Pingxiang is crowded although the weather is cold, some of us appreciate the snow sight in the top of mountain, some of us forward to climb and do exercise in the holiday and spare time. And traveling is the most relaxing and popular way for people to go out and experience different views.
