Low Alumina Ceramic Packing Balls: Properties and Application Guide
Low alumina ceramic packing balls are inert ceramic spheres manufactured from bauxite and kaolin through molding and high-temperature sintering. Their alumina (Al₂O₃) content typically ranges from 17% to 31%. Inert ceramic balls are classified into five grades based on Al₂O₃ content: common ceramic balls, low alumina balls, medium alumina balls, high alumina balls, and corundum balls. Low alumina balls occupy the second grade. Low alumina ceramic packing balls exhibit the following core performance characteristics: Chemical stability. Low alumina balls demonstrate good corrosion resistance to acids, alkalis, and various organic solvents. Acid resistance can reach 98% or higher, while alkali resistance is no less than 85%. In corrosive media environments commonly found in petrochemical and fertilizer production, their chemical properties remain stable. Thermal stability. The maximum heat resistance temperature of low alumina balls reaches 1200°C, with a thermal shock resistance of no le...
