How to improve the impact resistance of abrasion resistant ceramic lining plates

Abrasion resistant ceramic lining plates are commonly used industrial wear resistant materials on the market, but many manufacturers believe that alumina ceramic tile are not impact-resistant and brittle. So as a wear resistant ceramic manufacturer, let me tell you, how can we improve the impact resistance of wear-resistant ceramic lining plates?


The main material of the ceramic lining we usually call is alumina, its fracture toughness KIC is greater than 4.8 PA.M 1/2, and its flexural strength is greater than 290 Mpa. Compared with steel and other metal materials, its impact resistance is indeed a little worse. However, through some special processes, the impact resistance of wear-resistant ceramic linings can be greatly improved.

 

1: Surface design spherical protrusions

The unique mechanical properties of the spherical protrusions can evenly disperse the impact force of the lining plate, reducing the possibility of the lining plate being shattered by impact. It is a common method to improve the impact resistance of wear-resistant ceramic lining plates.

 

2: Increase the surface rubber area

  Wear-resistant ceramic linings are mostly used in combination with rubber. The impact resistance of ceramics is weak, but the impact resistance of rubber is strong. We can give full play to the advantages of both, using ceramics for wear protection and rubber for impact resistance.

   The specific operation method is to expose more rubber on the surface of the liner during the vulcanization process, such as leaving gaps or using round ceramic sheets. It should be noted that as the rubber area on the liner surface increases, the ceramic area will decrease. While the impact resistance is improved, the wear resistance will be reduced. When using it, comprehensive considerations need to be made based on actual working conditions.

 

3: Add other raw materials to the alumina for toughening treatment:
