What is the difference between different shapes of wear resistant ceramic?
As an important part of the wear-resistant field, wear resistant ceramics are often used in heavy wear industries such as ports, mines, cement, lithium batteries, and steel. Compared with common metal materials such as high-chromium cast iron and high-manganese steel, wear-resistant ceramics have many advantages such as high hardness, wear resistance, high temperature resistance, and isolation of metal pollution. Most of our common wear-resistant ceramics exist in the form of wear-resistant ceramic sheets, which are used as wear-resistant linings in the wear field by pasting. Wear-resistant ceramic sheets have a variety of shapes such as square, triangle, diamond, hexagon, circle and special shape. So what is the difference between wear-resistant ceramic sheets of different shapes? How to choose?
First of all, let's talk about the difference between wear-resistant ceramic sheets of different shapes, which is mainly reflected in five aspects-impact resistance, wear resistance, stickiness to materials, installation difficulty and appearance beauty
1. Impact resistance
Impact resistance mainly depends on factors such as material performance, thickness, impact angle, etc., but when these factors are almost the same, different shapes will be subjected to different stresses, which will lead to different impact resistance of the material.
For example, for wear resistant ceramic sheets of the same material and thickness, the stress on circular ceramic sheets is evenly dispersed and not easy to break, while the corners of square and triangular ceramic sheets are easily shattered. In comparison, the impact resistance of circular ceramic sheets is stronger than that of square and triangular ones.
In addition, ceramic sheets are mostly used in combination with rubber. When triangular, square and hexagonal ceramic sheets are vulcanized, there are few gaps in the middle and less rubber on the surface, so the impact resistance is relatively weak. The gaps between circular ceramic sheets are large, and more rubber is exposed on the surface, so the impact resistance is relatively strong.
So in general, under the same conditions, the closer to a circle, the stronger the impact resistance of the ceramic sheet, and vice versa.
2. Wear resistance
For composite linings, the more rubber on the surface, the stronger the impact resistance, but the weaker the wear resistance. Therefore, according to the above theory, the linings made of circular ceramic sheets have more rubber on the surface and poor wear resistance, while triangular and square ceramic sheets have high ceramic coverage and relatively strong wear resistance.
3. Adhesion to materials
The more and larger the gaps in the ceramic sheet, the easier it is to stick to the material, which may cause hanging and blocking. In other words, round ceramic sheets are prone to blocking, while triangular and square ceramic sheets have fewer gaps and are not easy to block.
4. Difficulty of installation
The wear of ceramic sheets mostly starts from the edge of the ceramic sheet, so in order to extend the service life of the ceramic sheet and disperse the flow of materials, the staggered pasting method is usually adopted when pasting the ceramic sheet. Square, triangular ceramic sheets and other ceramic sheets with regular shapes and straight edges are easier to install, while round ceramic sheets, hexagonal ceramic sheets and special-shaped ceramic sheets are more difficult to install.
5. Beautiful appearance
Some customers have a special liking for a certain shape, or they will choose their favorite ceramic sheet shape based on working conditions, application occasions, etc., or even specially customize special-shaped ceramic sheets. These Jingcheng special porcelains can be completed according to customer needs.
After figuring out the differences between ceramic sheets of different shapes, it is easier to choose, mainly based on the working conditions and their own preferences.
In the working conditions with greater wear and strong stickiness of the material station, try to choose triangular, square, and diamond-shaped ceramic sheets, while in the working conditions with greater impact and less wear, you can choose round ceramic sheets.
