Wear-resistant Ceramic Lined Centrifugal Separator (Cyclone)

A cyclone is a device that uses centrifugal force to separate solid particles or droplets in a mixture from the fluid. It is widely used in industries such as mining, metallurgy, coal, power, and chemical engineering. During operation, the equipment rotates at high speed, and the mixture inside will cause extremely severe impact and wear on the internal components (especially the feed inlet, cone, and sand discharge port, etc.). This wear will shorten the equipment's lifespan, reduce the classification efficiency, and increase operating costs. Therefore, wear-resistant ceramics emerged. They have excellent anti-wear and anti-shock properties, with a Mohs hardness of 9 and a smooth surface that is not prone to adhering to materials.

Wear-resistant ceramics are usually applied in the form of liners or inserts to the most vulnerable areas of the cyclone:

1.Feed inlet

Function: The part where the slurry first impacts at the highest speed and pressure, and where the wear is the most severe.

Application form: Integral ceramic feed inlet or internal embedding of thick ceramic liners. Usually designed in a special curved shape (such as "cycloid" or "helical line") to optimize fluid dynamics, reduce turbulence and wear.

2. Cone

Function: The pulp rotates faster in this area, the concentration of solid particles increases, and the erosion and wear on the wall surface is extremely severe.

Application form: Ceramic liners of different shapes (such as trapezoidal or fan-shaped tiles) are internally pasted or embedded. The diameter of the cone decreases from top to bottom, and the wear intensifies, so the thickness of the ceramic at the bottom will increase accordingly.

3. Sludge Discharge Port

Function: High-concentration, coarse-grained bottom flow is discharged here. The flow velocity is fast and the wear is extremely severe. The diameter variation of the sludge discharge port directly affects the separation effect, so its wear resistance is of vital importance.

Application form: Integral-cast ceramic sludge discharge nozzle. This is the most classic ceramic component, with extremely high replacement frequency and economic benefits.

4. Overflow pipe

Function: Outlet for overflow (usually fine particles), its outer wall and lower edge are severely worn by the internal circulating fluid.

Application form: Ceramic sleeve or integral ceramic overflow pipe.
