Applications of Alumina Ceramic Filler Balls
Alumina ceramic filler balls are high-performance industrial packing materials, primarily composed of alpha-alumina ( α -Al ₂ O ₃ ) with purity typically ranging from 96% to 99.9%. They exhibit high hardness (Mohs hardness 9), high mechanical strength, excellent wear resistance, high-temperature tolerance (long-term use up to 1600 ° C), and outstanding chemical stability, being insoluble in acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. Typical physical properties include a density of 3.6 – 3.9 g/cm ³ , porosity below 0.1%, and near-zero water absorption. These characteristics ensure structural integrity and stable performance in demanding industrial environments. In the petrochemical and chemical industries, alumina ceramic filler balls are widely used as random packing in reactors, columns, and vessels. Their high surface area and uniform geometry optimize fluid distribution and enhance mass transfer efficiency in gas-liquid or liquid-solid systems, suitable for processes such as cataly...
